"This drawing was done during a residency in Melbourne, Australia. I was inspired by animals of the Pacific, and how oceans tie us together. All the creatures, big or small, give us a different understanding of place, people, language, ceremony, and art of different places. I was interested in sculpin or rockfish of home, thinking about how these tough little fish play a role in our understanding of place and history."
